With this research I explored the potential of Nigerian and German proverbs.
Proverbs can serve as linguistic treasures, embodying cultural wisdom passed down through generations. How do proverbs influence societies today, in what contexts are they used, how has their usage changed over the years, and can they contribute to bridging cultural differences?
As a Nigerian artist living in Germany, I embody two cultures within me, and I constantly seek to bridge the gap between these worlds. Through a deep exploration of different proverbs, I aim to deepen cultural understanding between these two cultures, emphasizing possible shared values and aspirations and understanding proverbs‘ impact on moral compasses and cultural contexts.
