About Me

This is what made me do what I do

I am a choreographer, dancer, poet, songwriter, singer, photographer and creative entrepreneur with the hurl to research, preserve, develop and to promote the multi-cultural resources of Nigeria.

My professional career follows pretty much the idea of co-education. In my work I connect connect street styles with elements of contemporary dance, live music and political statements. Collaborating with a wide range of different artists from all over the world, I learned from everyone.

It is an ongoing exchange of an artistic knowledge, setting up a dialogue between the aesthetics of the traditional and the avant-garde, creating a truly cosmopolitan art.

I have worked with a lot of choreographers, festivals, theaters and other institutions from all over the world. To name a few: Tanzhaus NRW, Theater Bremen, National Theater of Nigeria, Theater Lübeck, Schwankhalle, Théâtre de la Ville Paris, Hellerau, Tanzmesse in Düsseldorf, Dance Umbrella South Africa, Tanz im August in Berlin, Ecole des Sables, Mouvoir/ Stephanie Thiersch, Samir Akika, Monika Gintersdorfer, Isabella Schad, David Zambrano, Serge Aimé Coulibaly, Robyn Orlin, Jessica Nupen, Regine Chopinot, Olivier Dubois.

I am the Festival Director of the biggest Contemporary Dance Festival in Nigeria, called “Lasgidi

International Dance Festival”, which was formal “Dance meets Danse Festival“, organized by the French and German Government.

As the director of „S.I.A Projects“ I organize numerous workshops and I create a platform for young artists to get and to share knowledge, to create and to perform.

As a member of Guild of Nigerian Dancers (GOND), (AV-Smuf) Artist Village Songsters, the Musician Forum and the National Council for Art and Culture (NCAC) I engage myself in the growth of the arts industry in Nigeria. Furthermore I am creating a new festival in my community Sari Iganmu which is called MAJAFEST.
